Playing with Photoshop: Miniature Effect

I have found a tutorial that simply brings a miniature effect to your photos. Usually Tilt-Shift lenses bring up such effects into a photo. But with just a few clicks you bring the model landscape effect to your photos.

I am not a Photoshop freak and also for a beginner like me this effect is simply attached. Here you find my first examples:

That looks amazing. What version of PS are you using for that?

I’m using PS CS 4 but this can also be done in any other version or other software like Gimp etc.
