Sailing, The Photo-shoot On Which You Can Take Your Family. Adventure holidays such as safaris, trekking or even sailing are great for photographers. Even those who have never been interested in this art before, return home to find that they have taken some amazing snaps. Exploring beautiful landscapes makes framing a perfect photo both enjoyable and easy.
Hiring a boat and sailing opens up so many possibilities for new and unique landscapes as well as seascapes. Sea birds and marine life also offer a great challenge for the amateur as well as the professional photographer.
If you are planning on taking a sailing holiday this year, you will need to look into boat charter hire. If you need to find out how to learn to sail too, you will need to do this well in advance of your trip. The course you will need will depend largely on what type of boat you hire and this in turn will depend on where you want to go.
Equipment
Another good idea for a boat charter hire trip is a waterproof camera. These can be splash proof or full on waterproof, ie, you can use them underwater. If you want to take photographs of marine life in their natural habitat you might need to get in with them. You can snorkel from your boat or take a full dip and learn how to scuba dive. Don’t take on too much, however, you need to know how to learn to sail first!
Learning how to sail is great fun and well worth the effort. It is a skill you will have for life and one your will want to draw on again and again. It opens up the world to you and also offers an extra choice for you and your family when it comes to booking your annual holiday. Whilst you can always hire a boat with a skipper or an entire crew, being in charge or your own yacht affords you complete privacy and control.
Tropical Destinations
Instead of choosing one country you can choose a whole region, create your own itinerary and agenda which you can change or even ignore at your leisure whilst you chase that next dream photo shot. Tropical destinations such as the Caribbean, The Far East or The Indian Ocean present you with new inspiration daily, if not by the hour. White sandy beaches, tropical waterfalls and palm trees hardly present the photographer with a cornucopia of possibilities. Not to mention those amazing sunsets.
The Mediterranean
Closer to home you can take to waters of the Mediterranean exploring a diverse coastline with quaint fishing villages which date back hundreds of years. The Mediterranean offers a large range of destinations from Italian ports to beautiful small Greek villages. The marine life is no less exotic either, you will find some beautiful creatures to photograph, but we can’t guarantee that they will pose for you, but this just makes getting that perfect shot all the more rewarding.
Sailing trips make great holidays for the entire family, as well as many opportunities for the photographer. Photos of your family enjoying life on the boat too are not to be missed. Once you have the necessary skills and the right equipment, it will be an experience you will want to relive again and again. Make sure you take plenty of memory cards and/or film.
